Researchers from UTHealth Houston and the San Diego Biomedical Research Institute used cutting-edge methods and technology to study millions of cells beginning in the fall of 2020, Li said. The researchers found that the virus causes the chromatin architecture in a normal cell to become “de-organized,” Li said.
