The Wright Brand, known for its thick-sliced hickory bacon, started in the back of a small grocery store in Vernon, Texas, in 1922, so the company thought it would be an ham-azing way to celebrate a century in the business by renaming the city where it all began. Vernon is located near the Texas-Oklahoma border.
