Somewhere in the world a grandmother like me hungers for food and struggles to survive.

“Why does it seem so unfair to have when others have not?” That’s a question recently posed by PennLive’s columnist Nancy Eshelman. And her question made me think.

As I thank God for my daily bread, I realize that somewhere in the world a grandmother like me hungers for food and struggles to survive. And I pray for her. According to Graham, our fight against terrorism is a skirmish in a war that began when Satan turned against God and declared his independence. It’s a battle between good and evil, God and Satan. In every nation, in one form or another.

I certainly cannot answer these questions, but I do know Jesus came to show us how to live, and upon His return, He will not only forgive us for our personal sins, but He will remove evil from the world and peace will reign. Come, Lord Jesus. That sounds like a plan. Good conduct leads to good government and a peaceful society. Doing what is right, just and fair leads to living with integrity and showing compassion to those who live in dire circumstances.
