A nearly 10,000-acre South Texas ranch once owned by a prominent Houston senator recently hit the market for more than $29.7 million.
Hunters will also find whitetail deer, dove, turkeys and wild pigs on the land, the listing states.
The ranch's main house spans 9,500 square feet and includes five bedrooms, four full bathrooms, an office, a fitness room, a large living room with mesquite wood floors, a hand-carved wood bar, a pool table and a fireplace. With water lines that stretch miles, the property also has numerous water sources, including a 5,000 square-foot landing strip, six water wells, more than 20 water troughs and several ponds.
Besides the main cabin, the property also features a recently renovated hunting lodge that dates back to the 1930s. It includes four bedrooms, four bathrooms, an office commercial grade kitchen, a living room with a bar and a dining room. The lodge's recent additions include a new managers house, a home for guides, a bunk house next to the lodge for overflow, a covered outdoor cooking area and an additional one-bedroom apartment.
