Dillon Reeves is being hailed for his actions to safely stop the Warren, Michigan, school bus after the driver lost consciousness.
WARREN, Michigan — People are praising the actions of a seventh-grader who managed to bring a school bus to a safe top after the driver lost consciousness., Warren Consolidated Schools Superintendent Robert Livernois says the driver became lightheaded then passed out while taking students home Wednesday from Carter Middle School. The student, identified by a Warren city official as 13-year-old Dillon Reeves, then took the wheel.
“This young man jumped into action when his school bus driver experienced a medical emergency, bringing the bus to a stop and avoiding what could have been a very tragic accident,” City Councilman Jonathan Lafferty says in the post. “We are very proud of you for your heroic actions!” Livernois says the driver was taken by an ambulance to a hospital. The students were taken home on another bus.
