Australian Federal Policeby Queensland police on Monday that a man, possibly armed with a crossbow and carrying fuel and supplies, had been spotted launching the jet ski at Punsand Bay in Cape York.
Officers from ABF, Queensland Police and the Australian Federal Police eventually located the man, and the jet ski, on mudflats on the eastern side of Saibai Island, a Torres Strait Island a few kilometres from mainland Papua New Guinea, and about 140km from Cape York.
