The tar-painted body bags were utilized for their assorted characteristics; besides their inky coloring, the carrier bags were of optimal canvas material and featured webbed banding ideal for the uniform of Dune's interstellar conglomerate.
It goes to show that Dune's ever-expanding franchise cannot avoid the legacy of the fantastical or the absurd.
