Mistakes and penalties don't let second-year QB show much of where he stands

Texans coach Lovie Smith planned for quarterback Davis Mills to play only two series. Smith stuck to that plan against the New Orleans Saints on Saturday.If you were in the line at a concession stand at the start of this game, or stepped away from your television, you probably didn’t see it. Mills threw only three passes and finished 3-for-3 for 14 yards before passing the reins to backup Jeff Driskel.The Texans’ first play of their opening drive was a 2-yard loss by running back Marlon Mack.
The second play went backward, too.
