The Supreme Court has disposed of the contempt of court case against MQM-P leader Mustafa Kamal and Senator Faisal Vawda by accepting their apologies, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Both the politicians were issued show-cause notices under Article 204 of the Constitution, read with Contempt of the Court Ordinance of 2003, for hurling apparently malicious allegations against the judiciary as well as judges and for speaking about matters that were sub judice before courts, including the Supreme Court.
CJP Isa advised both politicians to"be careful in the future" while discussing the judiciary. We respect you and hope that you respect us." The chief justice said that demeaning one another would hurt the public. In June, the SC issued contempt notices to TV channels for broadcasting press conferences of Vawda and Kamal, wherein, they maligned the judiciary.
