The Punjab government has announced an early start to summer vacations for schools, beginning on May 25, due to predictions of heatwaves
across the province.
A notification stated, “In view of the surge in temperature and heatwave in the proivince, all public and private schools shall remain closed for seven days with effect from 25th May 2024 to 31st May 2024. “However, schools will be allowed to conduct examinations as scheduled with necessary precautions to ensure the safety of students.”Normally scheduled to begin on June 1 and last until August 14, this year’s summer break will start early due to the additional heatwave-related holidays.
