Syed Nasir Hussain Shah announced free solar power for remote and underprivileged areas in Sindh.Plans include establishing solar parks, with one near Karachi expected to generate 50 MW of electricity. at bringing electricity to the remotest and most underprivileged regions of Sindh. This groundbreaking project, in line with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision, seeks to distribute solar panels to these areas, ensuring that every household has access to electricity.
The PPP government, known for its pragmatic approach, has already initiated the process to make this vision a reality. Minister Shah revealed these plans during a recent media briefing at the Sindh Assembly. The initiative encompasses the establishment of solar parks across Sindh, with one significant park near Karachi expected to generate 50 MG of electricity. This electricity will be supplied to Electric, enhancing user convenience. Moreover, residents in these areas will benefit from electricity services provided by HESCO and SEPCO. The government is also exploring the potential of waste-to-energy conversion, with concrete plans for implementation in the near future.
The upcoming budget is being crafted in accordance with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s 10-point agenda, which includes providing 300 units of free electricity to the public through solarization. Minister Shah expressed regret that the federal mandate was not granted, as these initiatives could have been extended nationwide for the benefit of all.
