ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to appoint Rashid Mahmood Langrial, a member of the Pakistan Administrative Service , as the new chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue , sources said.
Sources further said that the federal government has finalized Langrial’s appointment and a summary has been sent to the federal cabinet for approval. Rashid Langrial, a BPS-21 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service , is currently serving as the Secretary of the Power Division. The final approval for his appointment as the new FBR chairman will come from the federal cabinet.
Langrial has held various government positions, including Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan, Commissioner Lahore Division, Secretary Agriculture Punjab, Chief Executive Officer of National Power Parks Management Company , Chairperson Lahore Ring Road Authority, and Secretary Tourism Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This decision follows the resignation of former FBR chairman Malik Amjad Zubair Tiwana, who requested the PM Secretariat to remove him from his post.
