In a groundbreaking collaboration, Pakistan and Turkey are gearing up for the first flight of their fifth-generation TFX fighter jet scheduled for next month.
The joint venture marks Pakistan’s official participation in the Turkish Aerospace Industry’s “TFX” aircraft program.
Measuring 21 meters in length and boasting a wingspan of up to 14 meters, the TFX will carry a take-off weight of 27,215 kg.Powered by US-made General Electric F-11 engines, Pakistan also holds the option of utilizing British-made Rolls-Royce engines if objections arise from the US. The advanced cockpit features modern AESA radar, enhancing the ability to intercept enemies according to contemporary combat requirements.
The National Aerospace Science and Technology Park of the Pakistan Air Force is set to play a pivotal role in the TFX initiative, according to Jane’s Defense.
