The amount of discretionary funds, which Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz could spent on development and non-development projects, has been increased, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.Separate funds named block allocation have been earmarked under the minister initiative head.There is a suggestion to allocate Rs10 million for the discretionary grants the provincial ministers can spend.
Similarly, an allocation of Rs5 million has been proposed for the Punjab Assembly’s speaker’s discretionary grant. The Punjab government has also suggested fixing the funds at Rs3 million for the deputy speaker; Rs12 million for the governor and Rs2 million for the leader of the opposition.
