President Asif Ali Zardari presided over the Green Pakistan Project meeting, emphasizing the need to complete the Kachhi Canal project within 1.5 years, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.
During the meeting, the President received a briefing on the construction of six strategic canals for the Green Pakistan project. Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and senior military officials were also in attendance. President Zardari directed the commencement of work on these strategic canals, stressing the importance of concrete lining to prevent water wastage. He highlighted the need to develop Pakistan's irrigation sector on modern lines to conserve water, reduce wastage, and increase availability.
