Despite the Baguio city hall's efforts to simplify the process, only a few are securing building permits.

BAGUIO, Philippines – The vast majority of structures built in Baguio have no building permits, making many of the city’s buildings pose significant legal and safety risks for the owners, occupants, and communities.

The CBAO figures showed a significant increase compared to earlier figures from the City Planning and Development Office , which indicated that only 25% of Baguio’s structures had no building permits as of early 2022. She said private engineers possess the same knowledge and skills as the CBAO and can perform the necessary inspections.
