The series will be held in Amstelveen from May 18 to 24, with games scheduled for every day except May 21.
The tri-series, featuring all European teams, will adhere to a pure round-robin format, with no final, and each team playing the others twice. Ireland, having recently concluded a home series in all formats against Afghanistan, has three home T20Is against Pakistan in May before they head to the Netherlands for this tri-series. For Scotland and the Netherlands, who have been playing 50-over matches in World Cup League 2, this tri-series represents their final opportunity to fine-tune their T20I strategies before they depart for the World Cup in the West Indies and the USA.
“We are excited to host this Tri-Series as part of our preparation for the T20 World Cup played in America and the West Indies in June,” said Roland Lefebvre, the high performance director at the KNCB . “Twenty teams will be competing in this year’s event which makes this World Cup a truly global event, with more than a billion TV viewers worldwide. The Netherlands team will be aiming to emulate the success they had in Australia in 2022.
