During the deplaning process, the victim approached a flight attendant about the incident, but was unable to point out Robinson because of the volume of passengers deplaning.
Security footage was able to capture Robinson repeatedly looking back in the direction from which he came while proceeding to the baggage carousel level.“The FAA investigates every unruly-passenger incident that airlines report to us,” an FAA spokesman said in a statement on Sunday. There have been 1,081 unruly passenger reports so far this year, including 707 mask-related incidents, according to the FAA. Last week, the FAA proposed the largest-ever fines against two passengers for alleged unruly behavior. The fines of $81,950 and $77,272 are part of the $2 million the agency has proposed this year.
“If you are on an airplane, don’t be a jerk and don’t endanger the flight crews and fellow passengers,” U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said on “The View.” “If you do, you will be fined by the FAA.” The $77,272 fine involved a passenger on a Delta flight from Las Vegas to Atlanta. The FAA alleges the passenger attempted to hug and kiss the passenger seated next to her; walked to the front of the aircraft to try to exit during flight; refused to return to her seat; and bit another passenger multiple times. The crew had to physically restrain her.
