ISLAMABAD: The first review of the loan program between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund will begin on November 2, Bol News reported quoting sources as saying.
The IMF team led by Nathan Porter will arrive in Pakistan on November 2 to discuss the standby arrangement agreement between Pakistan and the IMF, the Finance Ministry sources said. The sources said the IMF delegation would remain in Pakistan till November 16. The IMF would review Pakistan’s performance in first three months under $3 billion loan programme, the sources said.
The sources said the first technical talks with the IMF would include a review of economic data. The second phase would be policy-level talks in which new terms would be set, the sources said.Advertisement “Work on government expenditure reduction and privatization program is going on fast. In the first quarter of the current financial year, the Federal Board of Revenue has made tax collections above the target,” the sources said.
