Among fifty people arrested for felony crimes in Fort Bend County recently were seven accused gang members, the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office said Monday during a news conference.

Authorities said law enforcement served 80 total felony arrest warrants. Also among those arrested were five out-of-state fugitives. The arrests were through Operation Hawthorne, an initiative launched to arrest gang members and violent offenders with outstanding warrants, The operation, which has concluded, involved several agencies, including the United States Marshals Office Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force.Those arrested are suspected of committing aggravated crimes, murders, sexual assaults and crimes against children.
