Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday as the Shawwal moon was not sighted in the kingdom on Tuesday.
Saudi Arabian authorities had urged citizens on Saturday to look for the Shawwal moon on the evening of April 8. According to the Sharia, the moon sighting can be done without aids or with binoculars, after which the sighting should be reported to the nearest court or center, as reported.Eid ul Fitr, one of the significant Eid events in the Islamic calendar, involves feasting, gatherings, prayers, and exchanging gifts. It occurs in the month of Shawwal and lasts for three days.
