Supreme Court disposed of 23,000 cases in a year
ISLAMABAD - Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandial has said that in February 2023, many constitutional cases were filed in the Supreme Court.Addressing a Full Court Reference, Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandial said as Chief Justice, he was addressing the New Judicial Year ceremony for the last time.
He said last year at the same event he had highlighted one-year performance of the court. In one year, the Supreme Court disposed of a record 23,000 cases. Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial further said the apex court reducted the number of pending cases by 2,000. The court itself became a victim of difficult environment and circumstances several times.
He said he did not want to recall the incidents that hampered the judicial performance. All the incidents had been made part of the judgement in the Audio Leaks case.
