The 20-year-old Mochizuki had never won an ATP Tour match before this week

- Shintaro Mochizuki continued his dream run at home Friday with a 7-5, 2-6, 7-5 quarterfinal victory over Australia's Alexei Popyrin at the Japan Open in Tokyo.

Tsitsipas fired seven aces without a double fault and saved both break points he faced for the win. His next opponent will be No. 4 seed Arthur Fils of France, who beat Peruvian eighth seed Juan Pablo Varillas 6-0, 6-3. No seeded players remain after No. 2 seed Adrian Mannarino of France and No. 3 seed Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands bowed out in Stockholm.
