FIVE people, including three South Koreans, died and two others were critically injured when a 'speeding' sports utility vehicle (SUV) collided with a trailer truck along a highway in Bulacan province, north of Manila, before dawn Wednesday, police said.
Lt. Col. Julius Alvaro told reporters that the frontal crash happened around 2 a.m. in Baliwag town. The five people died at the scene, he added.
Alvaro said the SUV, with seven people on board, including the driver, was heading to the international airport in Metro Manila when it collided head-on with a 22-wheeler trailer truck in the opposite lane.Initial police investigation showed that the SUV, which came from Nueva Ecija province, swerved to the opposite lane and collided with the truck.
