Seattle Fire Department (SFD) officials are investigating after another suspicious letter was sent to a local synagogue Monday evening.
This image shows Seattle Fire Department officials on the scene where a suspicious letter was sent to Congregation Shaarei Tefilah-Lubavitch on Monday evening.
No injuries or exposure was reported, but SFD HAZMAT crews were sent to the scene to ensure everyone's safety."I went to open up the mail and heard that other synagogues received suspicious letters, and the description matched what the others received," said the congregation member who opened the package. "I opened up the box and saw the letter, then closed the box and called the police.
HAZMAT crews with the SFD ran tests on the substance and determined it not to be hazardous. The employee who came in contact with the substance was also evaluated and was not injured, according to David Cuerpo, Public Information Officer for the SFD.
