San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said there are no updates on the contract discussions with Brandon Aiyuk or Trent Williams.
The San Francisco 49ers remain without two of their most important players at training camp, as All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams is holding out, and All-Pro Second Team wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is holding in.Aiyuk has been in headlines all offseason long, and officially requested a trade from the 49ers in the middle of July. However, the 49ers said they have 'no intention' of trading Aiyuk, leading him to 'hold in' during the opening days of training camp.
'He hasn't been on the field a lot, and we walked by each other,' Shanahan said. 'And it's usually how we greet each other — bro hugs. Nothing more, nothing less.'So, as of now, it appears Aiyuk's hold-in and Williams' holdout will continue.Aiyuk is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and is looking to become one of the highest-paid receivers in the NFL.
