The bottom half of the road trip continues with Montreal, Ottawa, and Columbus before the Coyotes host the home opener at Mullett Arena on Oct. 28.Special teams leading the wayIn just three games, the power play unit has become the biggest producer for the Coyotes with five of its nine goals scored coming from the man advantage. The Coyotes now rank fourth overall after scoring on 38.5% of its 13 power play opportunities.

It's not great news for the Coyotes to be missing right winger Nick Schmaltz for an estimated six-to-eight weeks with an upper-body injury. Especially as Schmaltz was one of the most consistent forwards down the stretch last season.
His absence will create an opportunity for other forwards to step up. Ritchie has become the team's top scorer early this season, but has been continuing his pace set when he joined the Coyotes on Feb. 25. Since being acquired from the Maple Leafs, Ritchie has scored 13 goals in 27 games. Physical play has been evident for the Coyotes so far this season. On the downside, the penalty kill has been getting a lot of ice time with the Coyotes spending 37 minutes in the box.
