In Sto. Tomas City, Andrea Mae Hernandez, 18, died at 6:20 a.m. after a passing jeepney driven by Jeoffrey Vargas Jr. hit her along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay San Juan. Hernandez was buying food at the roadside when a “fast-approaching” vehicle hit her, said the report. She suffered injuries and was rushed to the San Pablo City Medical Hospital and later transferred to Batangas City Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival.In Lian town, tricycle driver Cesar Dela Torre was traveling in Barangay Binubusan at 5:40 a.m. when he collided with a maneuvering dump truck driven by Henry Amor.
De la Torre and his passengers Jessa Concepcion, Josephine De Vera, and Jonathan de Lorre suffered injuries and were rushed to the Apacible Memorial District hospital, but the driver died on the way. INQ
