Jamie LandersA second man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old girl at a Red Bird apartment complex in July.
They left to meet up with a group of people, including McDade and the 17-year-old, at a nearby apartment complex, but when the group was told about Gibson “talking trash” about their slain friend, they asked to go confront him, the affidavit says. The affidavit says Stokes heard the gunshots from his apartment and ran out to meet Gibson. McDade and the other teen tried to drive away, but were both struck.
According to the affidavit, Gibson began “making unsolicited statements” when authorities arrested him July 19, including telling police people were shooting at him, he was running for his life and that his brother came to defend him.
