The 41-year-old suspect was detained and booked into Sonoma County’s Main Adult Detention Facility on multiple felony counts March 30. He was released later that day after posting $30,000 bail, the county’s sheriff’s departmentArmed with a search warrant from the sheriff’s auto theft task force, officers combed through the suspect’s property on the 800 block of Leo Drive and found 22 bicycles. They confirmed that five of them were stolen; the others are believed to have been stolen.

“I wouldn’t call this typical, but it’s not completely unusual,” said Rob Dillion, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s department. “It does happen on a fairly regular basis. Is it every neighborhood? No, that would be a stretch. Does it happen more frequently than we like? Absolutely.”
