Twenty-five Filipinos were repatriated from Turkey on Wednesday night following the powerful earthquake that struck the country last February 6, 2023.
The repatriates were aboard Turkish Airlines with flight number TK 0084 that landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 at 7:20 p.m., Jhomer Apresto reported on Super Radyo dzBB.
According to Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Eduardo Jose de Vega, this is the second batch of Filipinos who went home after the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that caused around 46,000 deaths in Turkey and 6,000 in Syria. He added that the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration will assist them so they could go home to their respective provinces.
Meanwhile, their communication continues with the Turkish Embassy to help the remaining Filipinos affected by the earthquake.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
