CRUISE TOURISM PUSH. The local government of Aklan says it expects at least 23 more foreign cruise ships to dock in Boracay until the end of 2025. cruise ships are expected to visit Boracay island by the end of 2025.
Niven Maquirang told the Manila Standard at least eight cruise ships will visit Boracay until the end of the year.Most of the cruise ship’s passengers are expected to visit Boracay on a one-day tour, Maquirang said.“I was informed that a South Korean agency on the maritime industry will be coming to Aklan soon to help us transform Aklan into a cruise ship hub. They are expected to forge a Memorandum of Understanding with the Aklan Provincial Government,” Maquirang said.
As this developed, Buruanga Mayor Concepcion Labindao said the dredging operation of the P298.34 million port project under the Philippine Port Authority is set to commence next month. Labindao said the dredging operation is set to pave the way for a modern cruise ship port in Buruanga, Aklan.
