As David Moore notes, the Cowboys are out to improve their running game and better protect Dak Prescott, and they get it all in one package in Mayer, They might still pick a TE if Mayer’s unavailable. Utah’s Dalton Kincaid, for instance. They might do better to wait until the second round and go for Georgia’s massive Darnell Washington. That’s what I’d do.The Cowboys could use another playmaker on offense, and seeing how Dak Prescott uses the tight end getting one of the better pass catching players at that position is prudent. He’s played 55 games in Division I and produced 35 touchdowns and 2,484 yards.
