Ford’s retro baby Bronco doesn’t just look great, it actually has off-road chops, too.
.) Unlike a typical drive program, we were going to spend our entire time with the Sport off-road, so Ford lowered the air pressure in the Falkens to 25 psi for improved traction in the sand, which was our driving surface for most of the day.
In the brisk dawn air we mounted our Yellowstone Metallic steed and headed down the trail, led by Melissa Clark in her-winning Bronco Sport. Clark has competed in every Rebelle Rally since the event's introduction and has spent the past three years piloting Bronco Sports. The first thing we noticed was just how well the suspension soaked up the desert's bumps, dips, and ruts.
Although none of what we were able to do was because we were in a Heritage rather than any other Badlands model, it did reinforce that the Bronco Sport is worthy of the Bronco nameplate. The Sport's sand performance was nothing short of stunning, its off-road ride quality is tolerable, and the different drive modes really do pay tangible dividends. The 2023 Bronco Sport Heritage Limited is better off-road than you think—and it looks sensational to boot.
