The eco-friendly Bentley 🔋
Instead of a W8 or W12 under the hood, the electrified Flying Spur comes with a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 that's paired with an electric motor. The result is a total system output of 536 PS and 750 Nm of torque. Since it's a plug-in hybrid , the Flying Spur comes with a 14.1-kWh lithium-ion battery pack that allows it to travel on electric power alone for a limited range.
Impressive figures for a hybrid luxury vehicle, but just how environmental-friendly is the Flying Spur? According to Bentley, it's their most efficient vehicle yet. Bentley has announced that the Flying Spur Hybrid only produces an average of 75g of CO2 per km based on the WLTP cycle. Not only does this make the plug-in hybrid Flying Spur the most environmental-friendly Bentley yet, but it actually emits less CO2 per km than the Toyota Prius.
Despite the Toyota Prius already emitting a low 94g of CO2 per km, the Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid was able to beat Toyota's best-selling hybrid by 19g. This comes as a surprise since the Flying Spur is a much bigger and heavier vehicle than the Prius. With a total range of 800 km plus the ability to travel on pure electric power for 41 km, the Flying Spur Hybrid is proof that luxury cars can actually be efficient and friendly to the environment. And if you do need to go fast, Bentley says the electrified luxury sedan can go from 0 – 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and hit a top speed of 285 km/h.
