at what would prove to be his first statuette of the night, for Best Original Screenplay. But the accolades kept coming, aswon for Director, International Film, and, finally, the biggest one of all. A visibly thrilled audience chanted for the lights to come back up after co-producer Kwak Sin Ae accepted’s Best Picture award, at which point Miky Lee, vice chair of media conglomerate CJ Entertainment, stepped up to thank Bong and Korean film audiences who saw the movie first.
