Two men were killed when fire swept through a house in downtown Oxford Tuesday morning. Firefighters were able to rescue an 8-year-old girl who is now hospitalized in Birmingham.
Two men were killed when fire swept through a house in downtown Oxford Tuesday morning.The Oxford Fire Department responded at 1:56 a.m. to a report of a fire at 24 Main Street.
Crews were able to pull the girl from the fire. She was treated on scene by Oxford Health System Paramedics and then taken to Children’s of Alabama. The severity of her injuries was not immediately known.The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office with assistance from the Oxford Fire Department and the Oxford Police Department.
