LUCENA CITY – Two persons drowned on Easter Sunday, April 9, in separate incidents in Batangas and Quezon provinces.
The Quezon police said Ryan Mallare, 40, a resident of Antipolo City, was dragged by the strong currents when he went for a swim at 10:08 a.m. at a resort in Barangay Lubayat in Real town.Mallare was rushed to Claro M Recto District Hospital in neighboring Infanta, but was declared dead on arrival. In Nasugbu town, Batangas, police reported that Hipolita Legaspi, 76, a resident of Tanauan City, was also swept away by the strong currents while swimming at 6 a.m. in Nasugbu Bay in Barangay Calayo.
