A woman and her companion died when their motorcycle collided head-on with a passenger bus on New Year’s Eve in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay.
ZAMBOANGA CITY –
Col. Eduard Mallo, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, identified the fatalities as Nepthalie Rhian Blanco, 25, driver of the motorcycle, and her back rider identified as a certain Bryan. Mallo said the incident happened around 3:15 a.m. on the national highway in Purok 1, Barangay Gandiangan in Imelda town.
Investigation showed the motorcycle and passenger bus of the Lizamay Express Transport Corp. collided after Blanco encroached on the opposite lane. “Both driver and back rider of motorcycle sustained severe head injuries,” Mallo said in a statement.
