SIXTEEN persons, including a child, were killed in a fire that hit a house in Tandang Sora, Quezon City.
In a radio interview, Bureau of Fire Protection-National Capital Region head Chief Superintendent Nahum Tarroza said the house, which was converted into a t-shirt printing establishment, was undergoing construction for expansion. He stated that the fire originated at the entrance of the house and likely spread rapidly due to the presence of chemicals used for t-shirt printing.
The owners of the house and their three-year-old child were among the fatalities of the incident. The others were workers of the said business. “Kung titingnan ninyo ‘yung mga casualty natin nasa aisle sila, labas lang sila ng kuwarto nila. So nagising siguro sila and then doon na sila inabot sa aisle. Nag ipon-ipon sila doon.
