Lily Rabe, as the titular Miss Stevens, scooped SXSW’s prize for best actress following the film’s premiere, but Chalamet is the real revelation. He stars as Billy, the most talented of the three young actors, who is struggling with behavioral issues and desperate for emotional connection. It’s a heart-wrenching performance that hints at a promising future.
