5 Christine The premise of King's novel Christine sounds silly on the surface, but the author manages to weave tension and terror through a tale that would fall flat from any other writer. In Christine, nerdy teen Arnie purchases a 1958 Plymouth Fury named Christine from its original owner. As Arnie begins working on the car, his appearance and personality change, causing tension in his personal relationships.
