9 The Intellect Devourers Joke Honors D&D Classes This reference in Honor Among Thieves is not only funny for the casual viewer, but even more so for those familiar with the game. As they travel through the Underdark, Xenk tells the group that they must avoid the Intellect Devourers, Dungeons & Dragons monsters that are drawn to mental acuity. But in a tense moment, the creatures avoid the group entirely.
6 Sofina Explaining Mordenkainen’s Arcane Seal In keeping with amusing magical moments in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Sofina’s explanation, or lack thereof, of her protective measures on Neverwinter’s vault also has an in-game explanation. While it’s comedic that Forge sets Sofina up for a long-winded, technical explanation of her magic that she ignores, it also makes sense that she would think that the Seal of Mordenkainen needs no fanfare.
