6 Jared Leto as The Joker Jared Leto's Joker is among the great DC characters failed by the DCEU. In a universe filled with controversial choices, the Joker stands as one of the most criticized. Leto's Joker design was deemed too edgy, with the face tattoos and grills seen as unnecessary and distracting. The actor also had to follow Heath Ledger's turn as the villain in The Dark Knight, an almost impossible task.
