6. Don’t enter the elevator before people exit or let the door slam on the person behind you.
Leaders are polite, friendly, and aware of their surroundings. Be nice to others. Allow people to leave the elevator before you get in, and hold the door for others. These are simple gestures that people appreciate.Avoid placing your purse, notes or other personal effects on an open seat. When people see you have marked that territory , it can suggest that you are close-minded. It looks like either you don’t want to interact with others or you are uninterested in meeting someone new.
Avoid adding stress to your colleagues’ lives by not sending them unnecessary emails. If the matter does not involve a particular person, do not send the person an email. Leaders are selective and prioritize productivity of themselves and their colleagues.You can say the same thing in lowercase letters. Successful people are able to communicate what is important without having to call extra attention to it. Also, leaders do not underestimate their readers.
Leaders conduct themselves in a way that considers the people around them. Successful professionals have to work with others to accomplish great things. To do this, they recognize and try to avoid small behaviors that might frustrate their colleagues and ultimately derail a productive relationship.
