Blue Beetle Director's Original DC Pitch Hints At The Batman's Potential Bane Future In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Blue Beetle filmmaker Ángel Manuel Soto spoke about how he got the gig to direct the 2023 summer adventure. The opportunity to direct the Jaime Reyes-led film came after Soto had initially tried to pitch a Bane project to Warner Bros.
This is the first time Bane has ever been brought up in relation to what Reeves is doing with The Batman franchise. Based on Soto's comments, it would appear that perhaps Reeves and his creative team are eying a place for Bane in the Elseworlds continuity. This would be the first time since Tom Hardy's incarnation in 2012's The Dark Knight Rises that Bane was getting used again in live-action.
