THE Department of Health reported Tuesday, May 3, a decrease in the number of coronavirus disease cases recorded from April 26 to May 2 as compared to the previous week, with only 1,373 cases logged on those days.
He said on May 2, 188 new infections were logged, bringing the total nationwide tally to 3,686,082, of which 5,303 have remained active.The top regions that contributed to the number of cases include the National Capital Region with 573 cases, followed by Calabarzon with 180 and Central Luzon with 110.
Duque said the country’s healthcare utilization rate remained low, as of Sunday, May 1, with 16.1 percent of intensive care unit beds utilized. This means that only 456 of 2,830 ICU beds in the country were occupied.
